In today’s competitive job market, it is no longer enough to have one generic resume.
It is beneficial to build both a scannable resume and a printed resume which you can bring to your interviews.
It may pay you to seek professional advice before you make your final decision on whether to include resume objectives. The modest cost of doing this pales into insignificance compared with the cost of making a poor career decision.
Employers are not interested in what you want - If your objectives fail to match those of the employer, you will not even get to first base ! So keep your options open until you find out more about their objectives.

Some resume writing software will not allow the user the option of saving their work and using it again, particularly if it is one of the free resume on-line varieties. This creates a situation where the user does not possess a copy of their resume; a real disadvantage.

Interviews are one of the most important parts of the job search process and unfortunately one of the most difficult. As much as you may practice you can never be completely sure of what the interviewer will ask. Yet, practice you must if you want to perform well in this all important stage of trying to find a new job.
While you may not be certain of all the questions the interviewer will ask there are a few questions you can be relatively sure will be asked at some point in the interview. In future posts I will be providing some guidelines to help you in preparing to answer these questions.

Avoid the inclination to gloss over your skills and qualifications. You must be specific in describing what you have done. It is also important to be very specific about accomplishments and more importantly, the benefit provided from your accomplishments.
Whenever possible it is good to explain how you helped your previous employers either save money or make money. Speak in specifics. Describe increases in production or money gains in dollar amounts and percentages.
This is the type of information which will garner an employer’s interest, cause them to want to know more and invite you in for an interview.
